Rocky’s Matcha is thrilled to offer our signature blend of houjicha from award-winning producer Mr. Kiyoharu Tsuji. Houjicha—sometimes spelled “hojicha”—is a roasted green tea that contains less caffeine than sencha or matcha. This signature houjicha is made from stems and leaves of Tsujiki’s tencha and is slow-roasted at a relatively low temperature to preserve the tea’s delicate flavor and aroma.

I had to try this matcha when it was released and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Very earthy but in a great way. Definitely a great matcha for fall and winter. I wanted to pair it with some chocolate but never had any around! Really like it.
